Book group discussions are open to all. We gather quarterly from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Bring your lunch and join in to discuss books about women! Call Ann at (231) 223-7489 for more information/details. We generally alternate between fiction and nonfiction books.
LOCATION: Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave., Traverse City
Thirlby Room – 2nd floor
Future dates/books for 2019:
- Friday April 26th – we’ll be reading poetry, for and about women, including poems members of the group have written themselves
- July 26th – Euphoria by Lily King
- October 25th – The Woman Next Door by Yewande Omotoso
Past books that we have read are generally available at TADL or at Horizon Books, where they can be purchased at an additional 10% discount if the customer indicates that they are reading it for the Women’s History Project Book Discussion Group.
To join into our group through online discussion, or to see what books we have read in the past, check out our book group on Goodreads.com, a free website formed to help people find and share books they love. It’s billed as the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations.
All of the titles that have been read by WHPNM to date are included in the Women’s History Project of Northwest Michigan Book Discussion Group on the website (“read” books) as well as future selections (“want to read” books). You do not have to create a Goodreads account to see our group’s content, but if you join, you will be able to post comments to the Group’s discussion board.
